City Manager's Office

The City Manager is appointed by the City Council as the chief administrative officer of the City. Implementation of the policies set by the City Council and the enforcement of all City regulations and ordinances are responsibilities of the City Manager. The City Manager recommends to the City Council adoption of policies that the Manager believes will benefit the health, safety and welfare of the community. The City Manager appoints the department heads and supervises all departmental functions.

The annual operating and capital improvements budgets are prepared by the Office of Management and Budget of the Financial Services Department under the direction of the City Manager and submitted to the City Council for approval. At the conclusion of each fiscal year, the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report is submitted by the City Manager.

The City Manager's Department includes the City Clerk's Office, Information Technology Division, Communications and Marketing Division, the Mizner Park Amphitheater, Office of Economic Development and Management Services.

City Clerk's Office

The City Clerk's office participates in the following duties:

  • Compiles and distributes City Council meeting agendas
  • Maintains an accurate record of the proceedings of City Council meetings
  • Publishes public notices as required by law
  • Conducts municipal elections
  • Serves as custodian of all contracts, deeds, ordinances, resolutions and other City records
  • Coordinates record-keeping activities of all City staff
  • Coordinates the activities of the numerous advisory boards and commissions
  • Acts as the general information resource for the public
  • Coordinates public record requests

Economic Development

The Office of Economic Development supports the corporate community by facilitating economic incentive programs for companies seeking to expand or relocate to Boca Raton. Capital investments that create or retain jobs help maintain and grow Boca Raton's economic sustainability. 

Communications & Marketing

The Communications and Marketing Division provides timely, accurate information that is understandable, interactive and engaging to the residents, visitors and businesses in Boca Raton. Public information strategies include the content management of a dynamic website, the cultivation of a strong social media presence, use of multi-media marketing tools and a timely, responsive relationship with the media.

Management Services

Management Services is comprised of Human Resources and Risk Management and is responsible for all phases of human resources which includes recruitment, employment, orientation and training of the City's employees. In addition, Human Resources manages employee relations, collective bargaining, the City's volunteer program and administration of contracts with the City's three labor unions. Risk Management is responsible for the administration of employee benefits.

Information Technology

The Information Technology Division provides support for the infrastructure, desktop and mobile equipment, telecommunications, public broadcasting, geographical information systems (GIS) and video surveillance (CCTV) for all city departments and facilities, including public safety.  The division staff supports software applications, business process operations, computer training and the maintenance of the City's website.
